Blog Hop, Stamped Cards

February 2022 Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Welcome to the February 2022 Casually Crafting Blog Hop! We are Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators from around the world who love to create cards ideal for the beginner or casual crafter. This month we’re taking on a color challenge.

We’re using Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Freesia, and Old Olive. I don’t think it’s a secret that Old Olive is an all-time favorite color of mine, and this combination is just lovely!

I recently purchased the Cactus Cuties Bundle (I always love a punch!), and I’ve been in a “what if?” sort of mood with designing cards. What if I don’t use any Basic White or Very Vanilla on my card? What if I use Designer Series Paper to create a cactus instead of ink?

It was a fun experiment; I’ll let you decide if it worked! I built my cactus creations on a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Sahara Sand layered onto a standard 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ Sahara Sand card base. I inked the edges of the smaller piece with Fresh Freesia ink and a sponge dauber.

I stamped two of the cacti with Old Olive, the larger one on the left after stamping off once to have a different shade then the one in the middle. I stamped the pot on the right with Rich Razzleberry. I punched the left pot and right cactus from the Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the middle pot from the 2021–2023 In Color 6″ X 6″ Designer Series Paper.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on a 3/4” strip of Sahara Sand cardstock in Old Olive ink, punched the right edge with the Banners Pick a Punch, then used a sponge dauber to ink the edges with more Old Olive ink. Finally, I added a Fresh Flower Flourishes in Fresh Freesia.

I hope you enjoyed the project I shared today! Please continue hopping and finding more inspiration by selecting the next link below. If you received this by email, please select the title at the top to visit my website and find the blog hop list.
