When an order that included the free Sale-a-bration set, Feels Like Home, arrived last week, I knew I wanted to use it for the thank you card I’l be sending to those who placed orders with me in August. However, even though I love to color images, it was a bit daunting to color all of this one multiple times. I had seen a few examples online where creators colored just a part of the image, and I decided to go for a brightly colored door.
I stamped the image in Basic Gray and used watercolor pencils on their own (no blender pen or water added) in Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight, with Night of Navy for the window. I also received the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder last week, and thought it would work well with this image. After embossing the Daffodil Delight Cardstock, I used a sponge dauber to drag a little Basic Gray ink over the embossed image.
I rounded the corners of the image piece with the Detailed Trio Punch, then inked the edges with a sponge dauber in Basic Grey. I cut out the sentiment with a label die from the Potted Succulents Dies, then inked the edges in the same way. I then added everything to a Bermuda Bay Cardstock base.
I colored three of the smallest Basic Pearl Jewels with the dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends marker, adding two for the center of the bicycle wheels, and a third in a corner opposite (just out of sight in this last photo).
