Welcome to the October 2020 Technique Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be part of this fun collaboration with fellow demonstrators. This month’s technique is shaving cream printing. I can’t wait to show you my project!

There are SO many great tutorials out there for this technique. Basically you use shaving cream (foam, not gel) and one or more ink refills to make a print onto cardstock.
I watched several videos, and my biggest takeaway was to make the area of shaving cream enough larger than the pieces of cardstock I planned to use so that the colored area would also be larger than the cardstock. I used 6″ x 6″ pieces of Whisper White cardstock, thinking I might be able to get at least two pieces to use on separate cards per print.
I did two different versions, one with Just Jade, Misty Moonight, and Seaside Spray, and the other with Bumblebee, Magenta Madness, and Pacific Point. In each case, I did one print after making a pattern, and a second after smoothing out the shaving cream after that first print.

The cards I’m sharing here are both from the first print shown above. I used the Here’s a Card stamp set for the sentiments, and the Timeless Label punch.

Later today I’ll be sharing a card made with the third print.

Beautiful cards Kristie! These came out so pretty. Thanks for hopping with us this month!

Thanks! I really liked how easy (though, sure, a little messy) the technique was to get a cool, artistic look.
