September 2020 Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the September 2020 Technique Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be part of this fun collaboration with fellow demonstrators. This month’s technique is clear block stamping. I can’t wait to show you my project!

I decided to try to make a nighttime sky background for my owl. I inked up a clear block (size D) with Misty Moonlight, then spritzed it with some water before applying to Whisper White Thick Cardstock. I’m making it sound a littler easier than it was — it took a few attempts to get the amount of water right to get the effect I was looking for.

After my cardstock dried, I trimmed off the white edges and rounded the corners. I then stamped the owl twice, once directly onto my clear-block-stamped piece, and then again to die cut the owl and spider.

I colored the branches with the Bronze Stampin’ Blend marker, and the owl and spider with the Grey Granite set and the Light Pumpkin Pie. I used Dimensionals to pop up the owl and spider. For the spider I cut a Mini Dimensional in half.

When assembling the card, I added a cobweb die cut from the Black Glitter Paper. It is held down with some SEAL adhesive on the Designer Series Paper with spiders and a Dimensional behind the Misty Moonlight panel.

Thank you for hopping to my site and checking out my project! If you saw something you love, please contact your demonstrator to place your order. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I would love to help you!
