I hadn’t even realized the nominations were today until I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning. I normally pay a lot more attention than that, practically waiting with bated breath to see who’s receiving the nods this year. Perhaps its the writers strike, the fact that I’ve seen so few movies in the past year, or that I’m just busy with other stuff, but while I want to be excited as usual, I’m just not.
I just did a quick tally, and it looks as though I’ve seen a total of three of the nominated movies: Ratatouille, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. Yeah, not exactly any of the “big” films. And not a one of the films nominated for Best Picture will be available on DVD before the Oscars, so I suppose I’ll be deciding if there are any still playing that I’m interested enough in to go through the effort of getting someone to go see them with me or just to go see by myself.

So which of the three listed are the two you’ve seen?

Whoops…that’s an editing mistake. Originally I thought it was just two, but then noticed that Pirates got nominated for a couple of things. Fixed!

I’m just a nerd 🙂

True enough. 😉 Usually I do a better job of looking things over too, because I’m plenty nerdy in that way.
