I was finally able to finish my alternatives yesterday for the June 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit, Expressions in Color. However, I’ve been on a virtual knitting retreat all weekend, and it took me until this evening (I’ll be sharing this around 9:00 PM my time!) to finish this blog post.
This is such a gorgeous kit, and really, I’ll probably use most of it as designed to have some beautiful cards on hand. I always like to try to do some fun things with the supplies, though.
By the way, the August kit, Hope Box, was introduced today. Select the banner below for all the details!
As usual, I first made one each of the three projects before seeing what else I wanted to make. The one on the right isn’t quite right – I wasn’t paying enough attention to the layout of all of those leafy pieces. It’s hard for it to not look lovely anyway!
I thought this stamp set really lends itself to doing some simple stamping — it has some pretty images and great sentiments. I made one card with colors that coordinate with the kit — Polished Pink, Bumblebee, and Fresh Freesia. For the other I went with a color combination that might be particularly nice for fall — Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss, and Crushed Curry.
Finally, I wanted try out a version of one of my favorite layouts in a note card size (5″ x 3.5″). I also wanted to incorporate a sheet from the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper and I love the combination of Evening Evergreen and Pale Papaya. I also stamped the sentiment with Pale Papaya ink.
I hope you enjoyed these alternative projects!
