The December 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, Beary Comforting, is adorable! I think the cards would be great for anyone, but it lends itself in particular to animal lovers and children. On the other hand, the elements other than the animals are pretty elegant, so there’s a lot of flexibility.
Most of the time, the first thing I do when I receive my kit is make the projects as shown in the instructions. Here are the three cards for this kit.
Did you know Stampin’ Up!® provides a video to help you assemble your projects in addition to the enclosed instruction sheet? Here’s the video for this kit.
While I’m working on the initial projects, I start to ponder what else I could do.
For my first alternative for this kit, I just did a little mixing and matching of the kit elements and then added a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. I love how the animals are designed to hold things!
When I saw the gold highlights on the card bases and layers, I thought of the Forever Greenery Suite, and in particular the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper.
For my second alternative, I didn’t end up using the Laser-cut Specialty Paper after all (maybe another alternative or two is coming soon!), but I did bring in the stamp set from that suite. Using only one of the pretty card bases from the kit and the coordinating colors as inspiration, I added the following items:
- Forever Fern stamp set
- Hippo & Friends Dies
- Gilded Gems
- Soft Seafoam cardstock
- Whisper White cardstock
- Whisper White Thick cardstock
- Cinnamon Cider Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Soft Seafoam Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Sponge dauber
I hope these projects provide some inspiration to you for using your kit in different ways!
