Welcome to the August 2021 Technique Squad Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be part of this fun collaboration with fellow demonstrators. This month’s technique is hinge-step stamping with the Stamparatus.
I started my card with a usual 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Soft Succulent Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-1/4″. This is a really simple book-binding fold, where the far left one inch is sealed together. I added a colorful strip (7/8″ x 5-3/8″) from the In the Wild Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the left panel.
Hinge-step stamping allows you to create a number of unique looks. One of my favorites is being able to perfectly space a repeated sentiment. In this case, I opted to call out all the colors in that first strip DSP on the far left: Merry Merlot, Soft Succulent, Cajun Craze, Evening Evergreen, and Crushed Curry. I hinge-step stamped them toward the right side on a Basic White Cardstock panel (3-1/8″ x 5-3/8″).
I added another strip of DSP on the left side of the white panel, and then die cut a tiger from another sheet of DSP. Finally, the new Decorative Matte Dots in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog include Evening Evergreen in five gradient shades and three sizes, so I added the darkest, middle, and lightest — one in each size — to the top of the white panel.
