The January 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit, Sending Hearts, is so fun to create with! This kit allows you to send paper hugs to anyone you care about.
Most of the time, the first thing I do when I receive my kit is make the projects as shown in the instructions. Here are the two cards for this kit.
In case you missed it, Stampin’ Up!® provides a video to help you assemble your projects in addition to the enclosed instruction sheet. Here’s the video for this kit.
For my first alternative, I knew I wanted to do something with the color combination of Smoky Slate and Just Jade. I just saw a card with that combination the other day and found it really striking.
The heart image in the kit’s stamp set is larger than the smaller heart in the Heart Punch Pack, which made it easy to punch out and layer. I actually had the embossed layer in my “scraps” folder left over from an earlier project, so that was easy! I punched out the sentiment with the Label Me Fancy Punch, and added Metallic Mesh Ribbon and Clear Epoxy Droplets to complete the look.
For my second alternative, I wanted to use the adorable snail stamp from the kit’s stamp set and incorporate items from the Little Love Boxes Add-On (still available for subscribers, item # 156842).
I used the Label Me Lovely Punch to create a label from one of the Little Love Boxes, a Blending Brush to color a Square Vellum Doily with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and the Detailed Trio Punch to add a little detail in the upper right corner. The Black Matte Dots are a perfect accent along with the black ribbon that comes in the Paper Pumpkin kit.
I don’t always stamp or decorate the inside of my cards, but I thought it would be fun to keep up the line of snails.
