I’m taking a little break in my series of Have a Hoot Bundle projects to share a couple of alternatives I created using this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit, Joy to the World. This kit is a special one that is being released in all Stampin’ Up!® markets, and it includes gold foil words in English, French, and German.
If you’re interested in getting the next kit, check out my Paper Pumpkin page for all of the details.
Note: The background for these photos is a couple of sheets of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper! This paper is just amazing, and part of the Designer Series Paper Sale.
My first thought when going through the many elements included in the kit was a card using all three languages of a word on one card. I also wanted to add as few additional supplies as possible, and I ended up needing only a 3″ x 4″ piece of Just Jade cardstock and a sponge dauber to ink the edges of the label the sentiment is stamped on. The Cherry Cobbler background is cut out from an envelope, and the small gold foil strips behind the sentiment are cut from the negative space of a sheet of gold foil words and banners.
For my second card, I really wanted to color that flower with Stampin’ Blends. Usually it’s recommended to use the Tuxedo Black Memento ink when using Blends, but I wanted a bit more muted look, so I chose Basic Gray. Besides the Blends and ink, I added the Layering Ovals dies and Cherry Cobbler rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Like the gold strips in the other card, the gold banner here was cut from some of that extra gold foil.
